The French Quarter- Hanoi

We look this as Museum day. A great workout walking around the French Quarter. We walk almost 20,000…our all time high.

Hanoi Opera House

Our first stop is the at the 100 Year Old Opera House. It was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. Located across the street from the Vietnam Stock Exchange. Interesting, didn’t even realize there was a stock exchange here. We would need to purchase tickets to see the inside of the opera house. We were more interested enjoying the magnificent view of the outside of the building. Became one of the top landmarks in Hanoi.

The Museum of Natural History

Small museum with some very unique and ancient artifacts. Just a stone’s throw away from the Hanoi Opera House. The museum highlights Vietnam history dating back over 300,000 years. . Loved the ancient statues and all the old artifacts from shipwrecks.

Women’s Museum

This museum is created as a tribute to the women in Vietnam. It displays the history of rural life. There is a section telling the story of Women Warriors from various battles over the past 100 years. This only time I have ever seen a Museum dedicated to Women.
