Colombia – Best Hotels Ever

Cartagena -Hotel Boutique las Carretas

Our flight was delayed 30 minutes. We drove all around the airport by bus to reach our arrivals area. Our Hotel airport pickup was a great choice. He was there waiting for us for an hour. Such a friendly driver.

This hotel was a perfect pick for us. Located within the main gates of the walled city. The historic design of our room with comfy beds and a balcony with a table and chairs overlooked the old city. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the view below. Staff were very friendly and helpful pointing us in the right direction on our walk about. Breakfast included offers a wide variety of options, fruit, breads, pastries, eggs and new items each day.

Bogota – Hotel Porton – Zona Rosa

Spectacular hotel…more than expected. There roses sprinkled everywhere .We were upgraded to an Executive Suite, through Expedia. I was a Number 1 Reviewer as we traveled all over the world. We have a living room with a couch and coffee table, a dining area, and a counter top with a fridge, sink, and kitchen utensils. The bedroom has a king size bed. Large Spa tub in the bathroom. Downstairs there is a nice pub area. Great choice having dinner in this pub. The breakfast was so huge and such large variety to choose from.

  1. Both hotels sound great but despite the rose petals it’s las Carretas that really grabs me as somewhere we would stay. I love the colonial architecture and being in the heart of an old city is perfect 🙂 It reminds me a bit of the hotel we stayed in in Quito, and one in Antigua Guatemala, both of which I loved.

  2. Wow! The rose petals and the kissing swan sculpture (made out of towels, I think?) — never seen anything like that before! Such beautiful accommodations!
