On Our Way to Wales

(2017) Maybe where our last international flight was to Asia or as we have traveled internationally for decades, our overnight flight Halifax to London feels so short,

Flight on time. As is our norm, no luggage checked. Heathrow is one of my favorite airports in the world. Well laid out. The central Bus Terminal and underground train terminal are directly outside the airports doors. Maneuvering around is a no brainer…even if we are jet lagged.

National Express Bus

Walked into the bus station, got tickets and twenty minutes later we are on our way to Wales. Interesting seeing views of the countryside and a glimpse of Windsor Castle.

First stop is Chepstow, 2 hours from Heathrow. Stone walls and narrow ancient roads. Surprised to see a pub called Route 66. Next stop, Newport. Modern, not as quaint as Chepstow.

Cardiff Wales

Upon arrival, easy walk to through Sophia Gardens to the Clayton Hotel. Located at the end of St Mary’s Street, lined with restaurants and pubs. As soon as we check in we need to flake out.
