Bergen has so many historic places to visit. Bergenhus Castle, built in the 1700’s is located near Bergen harbor. It was such Free visit. The main building in Norway’s first castle, built between 1247 and 1261 by King Håkon Håkonsson
Interesting walk around the Fortress. We notice the spectacular views of the harbor. Unable to climb to the fortress mound walls….closed for renovation.

As we walk by the these cannons and they are very historic

I’ve been to Bergen many times but never been here. I love the city and will make a real effort to see more next time I’m there but I’m so enamoured of the port area and the coffee shops that I spend too long there.
