These BEAUTIFUL panels recently installed at Halifax-Stanfield Airport, depicting Mi’kmaw culture, artist Loretta Gould.
She was Born and raised in Cape Breton, Raised in a reservation by her Parents. Waycobah First Nation is located in Nova Scotia. I was with so many of these friends as a child in Glace Bay.
Her art is Spiritual and its said it’s a dream to see bright, beautiful colors. .
The artwork, located on windows throughout the airport check-in hall, features images of a traditional birchbark canoe, fishing, and spiritual ceremonies, to name a few.

Gorgeous! And it’s great that the artwork showcases Native art, as it’s often overlooked in Western culture. A beautiful sight when going to and from the airport!
