European settlers, Eastern Passage began seasonal use of the channel starting about 1712. It is restored as 200 year-old fishing village. Rich in history. The construction of CFB Shearwater a military air base, at the northern boundary of the community during World War 1.
It is located at the entrance to the Halifax Harbour, just 20 minutes from downtown Halifax. Quite an amazing area to hike around . And there so many fabulous restaurants and gift shops

I read a novel set in this area some years back and it is just as I imagined it. The writer clearly described it perfectly.

The pretty colours of the gift shops make them very inviting and I love the painted fish above a doorway to one.
