They leave from Nova Scotia in the winter to Southern America. They arrive in Nova Scotia in late March.

Saw so many herons on the the land.

I love herons, such magnificent bird. Up close they seem wise and yet formidable with those all-seeing eyes and that long spear of a beak. Amazing photos!

I can seem you’re so lucky. We get he grey heron, here on the Norfolk Broads. They are much shyer and harder to get near.

I love Great Blue Herons. When we see them flying overhead, we say “Pterodactyl alert” because with their long legs they look like cartoons of the flying dinosaurs.
