Prince Edward Island -North Rustico was founded 1790. We saw this sign. There are Mi’kmaw people 6000 years ago. English, Scottish and Irish settlers moved into the area during the remainder of the 18th century and throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The name Rustico comes from René Rassicot, a French pioneer who was one of the first settlers in North Rustico.

We saw this red sand beach along the coast in PEI

Laterbwe saw that Fisherman Statue in the ocean.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a statue in the sea. Really beautiful.

Gorgeous beach! There’s an air of melancholy to it all, though.

When you know the history of an area you’re visiting, it changes how you view it. That’s a lovely stretch of beach!

6,000 years is amazing, there must be some artifacts around for them to know this.
