Monarch Butterfly

This  large and brilliantly-colored monarch butterfly is my garden They have two sets of wings and a wingspan of three to four inches (7 to 10 centimeters).

Their wings are a deep orange with black borders and veins, and white spots along the edges

  1. Wonderful shots! Unfortunately, we have way fewer Monarchs here in Fredericksburg than previously in Karnes City, further south. I assume we’re not on their migration route here.

  2. Beautiful. I had one fly into the flat yesterday. Was interesting trying to capture it one handed to help it back outside, but I did manage. They need to be outdoors

  3. Used to see these all the time when a child, but not anymore. We do have Milkweed growing in our neighborhood so I hope to see some soon. Thank you for sharing those gorgeous photos.
