Fire Was Destroyed

So much fire was all over area in Nova Scotia. We drove by yesterday and I saw the wreckage left behind by a wildfire that swept through the Halifax-area communities of Tantallon and Hammonds Plains over the last week. The fire, which broke out on May 28, destroyed about 200 buildings, including 151 homes, and forced the evacuation of more than 16,400 people.

  1. So much fire 😢 We are on southern Vancouver Island and thankful nothing here like that, but a few hours away there are major forest fires. I hope everyone is safe.

  2. We always hear from the news.
I learnt that your place also got affected.
Always wonder how you breath, manage the heat and carry on!
    Brave people indeed!
Do your govt and physiotherapists come forward to help those affected to re build?
    Take care Anita.

  3. It’s devastating to see the damage from the recent wildfires out east. We’re expecting quite a lot of rain this evening and overnight which should hopefully provide some relief for the fires in Ontario and Quebec, which have been creating some hazy conditions and smoky skies for us.

  4. That is tragic. The summer of 2018 we had record wild fires in northern Sweden. A big disaster and very strange. It had been the hottest summer on record and a very dry summer. And now Canada.

  5. This is realy terrible and it’s happening whole over our world…. We are also in “code orange” for wildfires in our nature reserves. The only positive side is: thee are no people living in these reserves (only nearby).
    Keep it safe Anita !

  6. Sadly, in so many of the wildfires all across Canada, arson was the cause. People are often quick to blame climate change but neglect to explore further. It’s so disheartening to know that the human hand can cause such devastation

  7. I liked, but I really don’t like the wildfires. Summer break has begun and I am up at our lake house. last week we had a wildfire which burned several thousand acres of dry wilderness all sparked by a campfire. Praying for rain and common sense. It’s rare these days.

  8. It’s so sad to see this… I have some friends and family members who are currently evacuated from their home in Northern Quebec because of the fires. And it’s hard to believe summer is only starting. Let’s hope things will get better soon.
