Located in the KABUKICHO district of Shinjuku, the museum was great way to learn about Japanese samurai culture! Various kinds of authentic artifacts such as Samurai armor, helmets and weapons. We did the English tour and I must say I really thought it was value for money. Only $16.00 each for two hours.

The instruments (koto and shakuhachi) were thoroughly explained by our guide and performers, with a selection of traditional pieces played, including duets and solos for each instrument.

They have replica suits of armor and some other original items on display. Pat dressed in samurai armor with a helmet and sword (not a real one of course!) The real sword demonstrations were a highlight.

What a fascinating museum 🙂
