  1. I was recently on a South Africa cruise and in Richard’s Bay there was a pelican family in a nest. The dock shipped a lot of coal. I have never seen so much in the one place. There were very tall lampstands with 8 lights from each one. On top of one of them very near our cabin was a family of 2 adults and 5 babies. Two other ? adult/adolescent pelicans were sitting on other pole tops but didn’t have nests. One of the other pelicans came to visit the nest and stayed a while before flying off to its own pole. I wonder if it was last year’s baby pelican visiting mum, dad and the new brood. There was no aggression at all and everyone in the nest appeared to take the visit for granted. It was wonderful to see this family behaviour.

  2. Fun post! Amazing creatures. I visited Florida, north to south, many moons ago and my sister has a holiday home there now. I personally find it too crowded and hot. It’s a good thing we’re all different! 😂🤣

  3. I live in Florida and those brown pelicans are so much fun to watch. I went down to the Gulf last night to catch the sunset and it must have been feeding time for the pelicans because I spent more time watching them divebombing into the water to catch fish than I did watching to catch the sunset! They are such clowns.
