Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden – Cape Town

Only 13 Km from Cape Town City Center. It is situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. We learned a botanist Harold Pearson converted this area into a botanical garden in 1913 to save the country’s indigenous flora.

Being a garden lover, this was a site I am so pleased to have seen. A huge variety of plants and trees which created the atmospheric scenery. Also the abundance of bird life accompanied us along the pathways.

  1. That last photo took my breath away. The way that sun shone behind the mountain…usually, such angles of the sun do not make for optimal photos (as they tend to be dark), but it works in this image!
