We enjoyed our time visiting here in 2020. first and only time we have been here.
Known as Torre del Reloj. Main gate into the historic city. Located between the squares Plaza Independencia and Plaza de Los Coches. One of the most famous landmarks of Cartagena.
Clock Tower

Walled City Cartagena
Many interesting and well preserved historic sites to see within the Walled City of Cartagena. Easy to maneuver around the narrow street….all within walking distance.
Pedro de Heredia
First historic statue we come upon is Pedro de Heredia (1505-1554) a Spanish conquistador and founder of Cartagena.

Fruit Sellers
These women are known as Palenque as ( Fruit Sellers). They are dressed as Africans, which they are not. Originally from a village south of Cartagena. Now they pose with fruit baskets, which at one time years ago they did sell fruit. Today they are here posing for tourists to take their photo for money.

I can never get over the colours of South America – it looks amazing.
