His first short flight took him to my foot. After a few minutes I slipped my foot out of my sneaker willing to leave him with it for a few hours to rest. Then he flew off to the highest branch of a tree by our shed and rested there instead. I guess you could say I gave him the boot, lol!

When we first moved to our current home in 2004, the fields were often full of these. Nowadays, they are a rare sight. 😦

Wow that’s amazing there were so many years ago. We saw a few today walking towards the beach..but they fly away fast.
