FOTD-July 10- Double Pink Poppy

Papaver somniferum is a subtype of opium poppy or bread seed poppy. It grows to about 60 to 90cm tall and has thick, hairy stems and lettuce like leaves. This poppy self seeds all over my garden but still love having this poppy.

  1. I have the same thing in my garden! Mine came accidentally from my mother-in-law’s garden about 15 years ago, and they just keep coming back. There are tiny seedlings of them right now among my onions and broccoli. Mine are a bit paler, and slightly purple.
