Goodbye to my Baby Maxie

Maxie was a Rescue Puppy from Goose Bay, Labrador. She was intelligent and maybe smarter than me. When we walk the trails she holds me back sniffing and seeing birds and animals near her. She an instinct in her to hunt, as wild animals do.

When our lunch is finished, we always have a cookie and she appears…looking at us with her expression, saying” Give me my cookie!”

When we decide to have a wine, she can hear the cork pop and shows up…”Give me a wine too.” In her mind a wine is the word “cookie”.

It’s tough time seeing Maxie gone. I will think of her forever.

  1. Thank you for sharing!!.. she occupies a special place in your heart and will be with you wherever you are… 🙂

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaking in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
    (Mary Frye)

    Until we meet again..
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
May all the wishes you wish come true
    May peace be within you
    May your heart be strong
May you find whatever you’re seeking
    Wherever you may roam
                      (Irish Saying)

      1. It’s truly difficult … our cocker spaniels passed on already 6 years ago and we still miss them. But we have such beautiful memories of them and this keeps them always close to our hearts 💔.
