It’s been years since we have been here and we are awestruck to see this site again. The Forbidden City began in the 1500’s and is now called the Imperial Palace Museum.
This is the largest ancient Chinese architecture still standing. Over hundreds of years there were 24 Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

We started in the first section and were amazed! We took a ton of pictures.
Now on to the next section and the next section and the next. We are blown away by the historic design and beauty. Hard to stop taking photos.
Our guide was very helpful explaining to us what we are seeing. The relics are amazing. We learned the tortoise represents longevity.

The gigantic gold plated vessels are amazing as well…tons of them.

Our last stop is at the matrimonial dwelling. We are able to take a look at the Emperors wedding bed. From what we gather one of many spouses shared it with him.

What a remarkable place!

Thanks for the informative post! You showed me places of the Forbidden City that I don’t even remember myself visiting when I went over 10 years ago!
