Destroyed over centuries during the wars, it remains a highlight of Hue. Walking through the pounding rain we eventually give up and hail a cab. As soon as we arrive it reminds us of a smaller version of The Forbidden City in Beijing.
The tiled roofs have such an artistic design. The dragons, various animals and sculptures are created with ceramics. The area is surrounded by a moat with gorgeous gardens, bonsai, flowering shrubs and water features. The more we walk the more we see.

Enjoyed this! And it reminded me that one day I have to republish extended versions of my own Hue adventures. Keep up the good work!

Reminds me of a trip I took to South Korea a few years back. It’s so interesting seeing the architectural similarities and differences between the Asian countries.
