A famous event in Hanoi, dating back to the 11th century. It began when rice paddy fields were flooded and villagers would stand in the water with puppets putting on a show. A unique part of Vietnamese culture.
We were lucky to get tickets from our hotel, otherwise we would have had a long wait in the line to purchase tickets. The show and music was fascinating. Even though the language was in Vietnamese, it was easy to follow. It tells the story of farmers and fishermen in a comic sort of way.

Love the water puppets. I have seen the show a couple of times. An interesting blend of the kitschy, but weirdly compelling! 😉 Have a good day, Mel
