Kirstenbosh National Botanical Garden – Cape Town

Only 13 Km from Cape Town City Center. It is situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. We learned a botanist Harold Pearson converted this area into a botanical garden in 1913 to save the country’s indigenous flora.

Being a garden lover, this was a site I am so pleased to have seen. A huge variety of plants and trees which created the atmospheric scenery. Also the abundance of bird life accompanied us along the pathways.

  1. You can’t beat the scenery there. I love how it is nestled on the foot of the mountains and paths take you up and down as you explore the different species. A very special place in Cape Town and holds wonderful memories of a day out with a friend. Thanks for bringing them back. Mel
