Manila – Greenbelt – Ayala Centre

Garden Addict ? Yep that’s me. High on my list is Greenbelt Park. Easy walk from our Hotel to Ayala Center.

Right away I am captured by the peacefulness of these gardens. Fabulous design and lovely sculptures by Filipino artist Impy Pilapil.  Nice place by the shady pond area to take a break and escape the heat.

In the midst of a busy Mall, it is a good place to have a peaceful stop. We were surprised to see a Mass service being held during afternoon. Unusual modern design! A circular church with an alter in the middle.

By now we are starving. Huge varieties of restaurants. Difficult which one to choose. The Hot Pot Restaurant was a perfect choice. Fresh and filling.

This is a pricey shopping area. Ridiculously expensive. Many designer stores,  Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Hugo Boss, etc etc etc. Not in my Ball Park.

This is our last day in Manila. With our short stay we had a chance to see more than expected. Early flight next morning. Goodbye Manila. ! May we meet again….

  1. right near makati is the american Cemetery. It’s the biggest cemetery for US servicemen who died in WW2 outside of continental USA. And it’s got so much history in there. I could spend hours, even days just trying to piece together significant events or personal stories. google it American Cemetery Manila) or maybe you can read about it in my blog (Where Heroes Rest).
