Tiananmen Square Beijing

Tianamen Square

Jan 2019

We take a twenty minute walk from our bus to the underground pedway. Interesting seeing the soldiers march by as we approach the pedway. It is the time of the Flag raising ceremony, so we had to get off the bus a few blocks back.

This is a site not to be missed. A huge square surrounded by historic buildings. Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall , the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum. Also the National Flag and the Monument to the War Hero’s.

As cold as it was, there are lots of locals and many tour groups of small school children . Each group of children are dressed in either the same hats or jackets. A great way to keep track of them
